TTArtisan Launches AF 17mm f/1.8 Air Lens

TTArtisan has introduced the AF 17mm f/1.8 Air, a compact wide-angle prime lens for APS-C mirrorless systems, available in Sony E-Mount and Fujifilm X-Mount configurations, with Nikon Z-Mount compatibility also announced. The lens is part of the brand’s Air series, which emphasizes reduced size and weight as primary design criteria.

On an APS-C sensor, the 17mm focal length produces an equivalent field of view of approximately 25mm, covering 81 degrees. The optical construction consists of 14 elements arranged in ten groups, incorporating three high-refractive index elements and two extra-low dispersion elements. The six-blade aperture diaphragm produces six-point star patterns at narrow apertures and contributes to background defocus at wider settings.

The lens body is machined from aluminum, measuring 47mm in length and weighing between 161g and 178g depending on the mount variant, and includes both a manual focus ring and an aperture ring, and accepts 52mm filters. Autofocus is driven by a stepping motor, which operates quietly and supports subject detection and tracking on compatible bodies. The minimum focusing distance is 0.18 meters.

The TTArtisan AF 17mm f/1.8 Air is now available at a retail price of $148.

Also announced alongside the 17mm is the 7.5mm f/2 fisheye in a silver edition for Nikon Z-Mount, a manual focus APS-C lens offering a 180-degree field of view and a closest focus distance of 0.125 meters. Unlike the 17mm, this lens features a clicked aperture ring and a full metal body.
