Viltrox Adds Two APS-C Portrait Primes to Evo Lineup
Viltrox has expanded its APS-C Evo lineup with two new autofocus portrait prime lenses, the AF 75mm f/1.8 Evo and the AF 90mm f/2.2 Evo. Designed for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Fujifilm X mirrorless cameras, both lenses follow the same design philosophy as previous Evo models, combining compact dimensions, relatively low weight, and a common feature set. Although they share many characteristics, each lens targets a slightly different shooting style through its focal length and maximum aperture.
The AF 75mm f/1.8 Evo is the faster of the two new lenses, offering an equivalent focal length of approximately 112mm on APS-C cameras. Its bright f/1.8 aperture is intended to provide strong subject separation while maintaining a compact form factor. The optical design consists of 11 elements arranged in nine groups, including extra-low dispersion and high-refractive-index elements to reduce chromatic aberration and maintain image sharpness across the frame. A nine-blade diaphragm is used to produce smooth out-of-focus rendering.
The lens incorporates a stepping motor for autofocus, while Nikon Z and Sony E versions include an AF/MF switch, a customizable function button, and an aperture ring that can be switched between clicked and de-clicked operation. Fujifilm X versions retain the aperture ring but omit the additional controls. The lens also features weather sealing, a USB-C port for firmware updates, a 58mm filter thread, and weighs approximately 355g.

The AF 75mm f/1.8 Evo is now available, priced at $329.
The AF 90mm f/2.2 Evo extends the focal length to an equivalent 135mm field of view, making it more suitable for tighter portraits and subjects requiring greater working distance. While the maximum aperture is slightly slower at f/2.2, the lens remains compact and lightweight. Its optical construction includes 10 elements in eight groups, incorporating two ED elements and two high-refractive-index elements to minimize chromatic aberration while maintaining high contrast and resolution. A nine-blade diaphragm is also employed.
Like the 75mm model, the 90mm uses a stepping motor for autofocus and supports firmware updates through USB-C. Nikon Z and Sony E versions feature the same customizable button, AF/MF switch, and click/de-click aperture ring, whereas the Fujifilm X version adopts a simpler control layout. The lens weighs approximately 320–345g depending on mount version and accepts 58mm filters.
