Wi-Fi Alliance Introduces Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7

The global network of companies that created Wi-Fi, known as Wi-Fi Alliance, has unveiled Wi-Fi Certified 7, which is a further advancement in connectivity and performance. Photographers could save time when uploading, downloading, and sharing their work.

“The introduction of Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 marks the emergence of the latest generation of Wi-Fi and will be an accelerant to mass adoption of Wi-Fi 7. This certification underscores our relentless commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology that redefines the way users experience Wi-Fi, providing faster speeds, improved efficiency, and increased reliability, which expand the horizons of what is possible through Wi-Fi,” says Kevin Robinson, president and CEO, Wi-Fi Alliance.

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 improves Wi-Fi performance and connectivity across a wide range of settings. Based on IEEE 802.11be technology, Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 improves Wi-Fi performance in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands. Every day, technology advances, necessitating greater connectedness. This latest Wi-Fi update, the product of collaboration within the Wi-Fi alliance, will enable innovations such as AR/VR/XR, immersive 3D training, and electronic gaming to reach their full potential.

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 has several major benefits, including increased throughput, greater support for deterministic latency, improved efficiency even in congested networks, lower power consumption, and increased dependability.

The good news is that Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 will directly assist daily consumers, since more than 233 million additional devices are projected in 2024 and 2.1 billion by 2028. The most prevalent gadgets, such as smartphones, PCs, and tablets, will be the first to adopt the enhancement, assuring an instant practical benefit for all of us. The following environments will benefit from this are customer premises equipment (CPE) and augmented and virtual reality equipment (AR/VR).

Broadcom, CommScope, RUCKUS Networks, Intel, MaxLinear, MediaTek, and Qualcomm will be among the first vendors to release Wi-Fi CERTIFIED 7 devices.
