After completing his Phd Simone dedicated himself in conveying his academic and anthropological background into more "usable" filmic, narrative writing and photography languages. During his long term ethnographic research in Indian Kashmir he got especially interested in the moral background surrounding and producing political violence and the relations between aesthetic and ethics of conflicts. He has developed visual skills hands on, along with his experience as fixer for Fausto Podavini. working with other Italian photographers and documentarists, coordinating participatory projects and workshops. His first documentary, “After Prayers”, was realized with the support of Wenner Foundation Grant and was awarded at Vienna Ethnocineca, Etnofilmfest and Film Southasia fest. His book, “Lines of Control”, has been released in 2018 and is used as coursebook in three Italian universities . His ongoing photographic project “Kabristan” has received the IPA award for deeper perspective.
