AstrHori Unveils a New 85mm f/2.8 Tilt Macro Lens

A new 1:1 macro APS-C lens from AstrHori, the 85mm f/2.8 Tilt Macro, has been made available for various mirrorless camera systems. Two extra-low dispersion components are among the 11 elements of the macro lens’ construction, which is organized into eight groups. It has a 55mm front filter thread, a 55mm rear filter thread, a 12-blade aperture diaphragm, a minimum focusing distance of 28 cm (11″), and a tilt angle of +/-8°.

The lens is tilted using a knurled knob that is moved along defined positions to indicate the tilt angle. To prevent the tilt from being bumped when moving or making other adjustments, there is also a locking mechanism. On the back of the lens, a special ring that clicks every 30 degrees is used for rotation.

The lens is completely manual, thus it does not work with any focus confirmation features or transmit any EXIF data to the camera. The lens is 11cm (4.33″) length and 6.3cm (2.48″) in diameter. At this moment, no weight is specified. The lens is made to fit a variety of full-frame lens mounts, including Canon RF, Fujifilm X, L, Nikon Z, and Sony E mounts. However, AstrHori contends that all tilt capability should be restricted to full-frame cameras’ crop-sensor shooting modes.

The AstrHori 85mm f/2.8 Tilt Macro lens is available for $329.
