The Vertigo Lens Turret is an adaptor that attaches to a camera’s lens mount and allows a filmmaker to swap between three distinct attached lenses easily.

The MultiTurret, a concept initially unveiled in 2019, is the basis for the Lens Turret. The creator of the rotating device, Ian Kerr, claims it is now ready for release after four years of research and development. Thanks to this new version, cinematographers can now quickly swap up to three EF or PL lenses mounted on specific cinema cameras. Even though the system only supports non-mirrorless lenses, filmmakers still have plenty of options. According to the producer, this makes it the ideal complement for documentary filmmakers who would benefit from that versatility. Using only prime lenses makes it impossible to zoom in on a particular location swiftly.

The Vertigo Lens Turret can be mounted or removed on E-mount cameras in five seconds. The system is fastened to Arri and Red cameras, requiring closer to two minutes for installation or removal (by four screws).

The Amazing Race (CBS), Modern Marvels (Discovery), The Nature of Things (CBC), and other unknown documentaries, according to the manufacturer, have all used the Vertigo Lens Turret to record sequences.

The turret unit weighs a respectable 2.6 pounds without the lens. It isn’t excessively heavy. According to Vertigo, the lens is smaller than one long cinema zoom lens, even when outfitted with three prime lenses. Additionally, it offers the chance to use broader focal lengths than are generally seen on high-end filmmaking zoom optics, and it lets filmmakers alter the zoom lengths.
