Sony Launches a New Teaser for an Upcoming Alpha Camera on January 26th

Sony has brought live a teaser on its YouTube channel with a countdown to the premiere of a new Alpha camera on January 26. Sony was expected to launch a professional camera in early 2021, so this announcement isn’t accidental. No details other than the timing of the announcement have been revealed, but some rumors claim it to be a new a9 series camera.

As usual, reliable specifications on the upcoming model are hard to come by, but CanonRumors speculates that Sony is going to announce its first 8K mirrorless camera, video recording with no overheating, 9.44M dots EVF, a newly developed sensor, in a slightly bigger body than a7 III.
While many rumors about upcoming Sony products have been right, there are also so many which missed that mark.

The event, which can be watched using the above video embed, will start at 10 AM EST on January 26 (15:00 GMP and 24:00 JST). You can click “set reminder” on the video to receive a notification from YouTube ahead of the event.
