Meet Leica’s Newest Limited-Edition Camera M10-P “White”, the Spiritual Successor to the M8 White Edition

One week to the day after Leica released the “Ghost Edition” of the Leica M10-P, the company has announced yet another limited edition version of the same camera.

Leica has been releasing strictly limited, special editions since 1975. These exceptional models are conceived and produced by Leica in collaboration with artists, photographers, designers, and premium brands. Thanks to this tradition, a number of unusual and unique special models and sets with perfectly coordinated accessories have been released.

Limited to 350 sets only worldwide, the all-white design takes its cue from the extremely popular Leica M8 ‘White Edition’ released in 2009. The top and bottom plates are finished in white paint to match the camera’s white leather trim and the silver control elements feature white engravings, complementing the design concept of the Leica M10-P “White”.

The Leica M10-P “White” reinterprets the iconic design of Leica’s rangefinder camera: with its predominantly white exterior, this special-edition model seems like an entirely new camera; in truth, however, the white finish marks the only major deviation from its serially produced counterpart. The Leica M10-P “White” accentuates the rangefinder camera’s classic design without seeking to draw attention. In fact, the camera should not be viewed as a purely aesthetic statement, but is also intended as a regular working tool.

In contrast to the serial model, the classic red Leica dot is positioned on the camera’s front panel. The top and base plates feature a white lacquer finish, while the trim is made of white-tanned cowhide leather. The camera’s viewfinder frames are also displayed in white.

Especially unique to this camera is the surrounding frame of the LCD and buttons on the rear, normally black, now in white for the first time. As for the lens, the metal silver chrome front cap, white engravings, and white focusing tab on the barrel maintain the unified look of the camera set in nearly every way possible.

The Leica M10-P “White” comes as a set with the silver chrome Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH. lens, which complements the Leica M10-P by delivering consistent exceptional performance at all apertures and distance settings. Whether used for selective sharpness at short distances, high contrast available light photography or for landscapes with enormous depth of focus, the Summilux-M 50 mm f/1.4 ASPH. lens delivers outstanding results in all situations and superbly fulfils its tasks as a true universal lens.

The set is completed with a white leather carrying strap with Leica embossing and a white leather case for the lens.

The Leica M10-P “White” will be limited to 350 sets worldwide, with an individual special edition number engraved on the hot shoe in white, exclusively available through Leica Stores and Boutiques for $14,495.
