About the Martin Parr Foundation
The Foundation supports and preserves the legacy of photographers who made, and continue to make, important work focused on the British isles
.
The foundation has three aims:

  • Preserve the archive and legacy of Martin Parr, one of the most significant documentary photographers of post-war Britain.
  • Hold a growing collection of works by selected British and Irish photographers as well as images taken in the British Isles by international photographers
  • House an expanding library of British and Irish photo-books.

Gallery

The gallery will exhibit photographs by contemporary British and Irish photographers as well as works from the collection.
 Once a year we will host a show by MA photography students from the University of West England.

Archive
The Foundation houses Martin Parr’s archive spanning 45 years and a growing collection of works by selected British and Irish photographers, as well as images taken in the British Isles by international photographers.

Library
The library includes 5000 books by both British and Irish photographers as well as complete back catalogs of important publications such as Creative Camera and Camera Work for educational and research purposes.

Studio
The studio provides scanning, digital processing, and printing for Martin Parr and photographers associated with the Foundation.

Shop
Books, posters, postcards, and gifts are available to buy in the gallery shop and online.

Events space
The Foundation hosts talks, screenings and events throughout the year.
